We enthusiastically celebrate our athletes, with banners, rituals, media coverage, and even messages pulled by a plane in the sky.  Let’s continue that tradition, while simultaneously giving similar attention to our students’ academic achievements.  Academic achievements are personal, but we can also think of them as partly accomplishments of Madison as a team.

In the same way that the town knows when a big football game will occur, we can know as a town when Advanced Placement tests will be given, and when the results will be known.  Similarly, we can encourage and later celebrate our town’s students when they confront the SAT test and other college entrance challenges.  Also, the National Merit Scholar process offers a distinct opportunity to celebrate our academic achievers.
