Tom Piskula is running for re-election to the Madison Board of Education. Tom’s mission is to help further develop Madison as a premier school district within the state of New Jersey. If re-elected on November 6, he would continue to work energetically with all stakeholders to make the good better, because he sees our schools and our children as our future. Tom is a 29-year resident of Madison, with two children in sixth grade at Madison Junior School.
Tom’s contributions to the Board of Education over the past three years include:
- Focus on Academics – Advocating attention to student achievement at every opportunity. Successfully advocating for full-day kindergarten, starting in fall 2019.
- Transparency – Successfully worked to get BOE meeting documents available to the public.
- Fiscal Responsibility – Raised awareness of unused funds. The funds will now be directed toward academic achievement.
Tom’s qualifications include:
- Teacher – Educates undergraduate and Master students.
- Finance Experience – Managed teams investing billions of dollars.
- Public Asset Governance – Kept the public informed, while managing public assets.
